Privacy Policy

RecallBell provides reminders, planning, location-aware alerts, ANWI assistance, and My Personal Space features. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal data RecallBell processes, why that data is used, and the choices available to users.
1. Information you provide
When you create or use a RecallBell account, we may process information such as your name, email address, optional phone number, profile information, reminder and plan content, and information you choose to save in My Personal Space or My Accounts.
2. Account verification and sessions
RecallBell uses passwordless email verification codes for signup and login. Verification emails are delivered through an email service provider. RecallBell stores a cryptographic hash of the verification code rather than the code itself after issuance. For signed-in sessions, RecallBell may process session and device information such as device identifier, device name, platform, IP address and user-agent information for authentication, security and session management.
3. Location data and permissions
If you use location-based reminders, RecallBell may request foreground and background location permissions so the app can detect relevant arrival, departure or proximity conditions. Location information is used to provide the location-reminder feature and related reliability functions. You can control device permissions through Android settings, but disabling required permissions may prevent location reminders from working correctly.
4. Notifications and alarms
RecallBell uses notification and alarm capabilities to deliver reminder alerts. The app may process reminder identifiers, trigger details and notification state needed to schedule, restore and deliver those alerts.
5. ANWI and voice transcription
When you use ANWI, RecallBell processes the text you submit to understand and execute supported reminder and planning requests. If you use ANWI voice input, the audio recording is sent to OpenAI's API transcription service to produce a transcript. RecallBell's current voice-transcription path is designed to transcribe the user's speech rather than intentionally translate it. OpenAI processes API data under its applicable business/API terms and privacy commitments.
6. My Personal Space and My Accounts
My Personal Space may contain highly sensitive information that you choose to store. The current RecallBell backend stores the My Personal Space cloud payload in encrypted form using AES-256-GCM. The encrypted payload is associated with your user account and a revision number used for safe synchronization. Device authentication may also be used to protect entry to My Personal Space and access to protected saved records, depending on supported device security capabilities.
7. Usage and analytics information
RecallBell may record product-usage events linked to a user account, including event type, resource type, resource identifier, limited metadata, platform, app version and timestamps. This information is used to understand product behavior, reliability and usage patterns. Metadata is constrained and sanitized by the backend before storage.
8. Subscriptions and billing
RecallBell includes subscription and trial infrastructure. Where Google Play billing is used, payment processing is handled through the platform's billing systems. RecallBell receives only the information needed to determine subscription access and entitlement state; payment-card details are not entered into RecallBell's own payment form.
9. Service providers
RecallBell relies on service providers to operate parts of the service. Current inspected integrations include OpenAI for ANWI voice transcription and Resend for delivery of authentication emails. Hosting, database, mobile-platform and Google Play services may also process information as necessary to provide their respective functions.
10. How information is used
We use information to operate RecallBell, authenticate users, create and deliver reminders, provide ANWI and My Personal Space features, synchronize data, maintain security, troubleshoot failures, understand service usage, manage subscriptions and comply with applicable legal obligations.
11. Data retention and deletion
Different categories of data are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and integrity, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations and support legitimate operational needs. Some short-lived authentication data, such as email verification challenges, expires automatically. Where RecallBell provides deletion controls for particular content, using those controls removes or updates that content according to the product's implemented behavior. Account-level deletion and retention procedures should be reviewed as the public-release account-deletion flow is finalized.
12. Security
RecallBell uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect user information. These include encrypted storage for the My Personal Space cloud payload, hashed authentication secrets where applicable, authenticated API access, device-security integration for protected content, and access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security.
13. Your choices
You may manage device permissions through Android settings, decide whether to use optional voice input, choose what information to store in My Personal Space, edit supported profile information, and remove or modify content using controls available in the app. Additional rights may apply under applicable data-protection law.
14. Children
RecallBell is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children in a manner that would require parental consent without the required safeguards. Public-release age requirements and child-specific controls should remain aligned with the applicable app-store and legal requirements.
15. International processing
Some service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, RecallBell will use appropriate safeguards and follow applicable data-protection requirements for such processing.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RecallBell changes. The effective date above indicates the current version published on the website.
